Terms of Use

These terms explain how CSS Scratchpad may be used and clarify that the extension is proprietary software.

Overview

CSS Scratchpad is a Chrome extension for temporarily applying custom CSS to the current webpage for development, testing, and visual debugging. By installing or using CSS Scratchpad, you agree to these terms.

Local tool CSS Scratchpad is intended for local, temporary page styling.

Proprietary The extension is source-available, not open source.

No warranty Use the extension at your own discretion and risk.

Permitted Use

You may use CSS Scratchpad to test, preview, and debug CSS changes on webpages you are viewing. The extension is intended as a developer and designer utility, not as a way to bypass website rules, security controls, paywalls, access restrictions, or legal obligations.

Prohibited Use

You may not use CSS Scratchpad to:

Break, abuse, interfere with, or compromise websites, browser behavior, or other users' systems.
Misrepresent modified page content as official or unchanged content from the original website.
Use the extension in a way that violates laws, website terms, workplace policies, or third-party rights.
Copy, repackage, rebrand, redistribute, sell, or publish CSS Scratchpad or a derivative extension without written permission.

Ownership and License

CSS Scratchpad is proprietary software. The source code may be visible for transparency or distribution purposes, but visibility does not grant permission to copy, modify, redistribute, publish, sell, rebrand, package, or create a competing or derivative product from it.

Plain English: you can use the extension, but you cannot clone it, resell it, rebrand it, or treat the project as open source.

Privacy

Third-Party Websites

CSS Scratchpad works on webpages you choose to edit locally in your browser. Those webpages are owned and operated by third parties. CSS Scratchpad is not responsible for third-party websites, their content, their terms, or their behavior.

No Warranty

CSS Scratchpad is provided “as is” and “as available.” It may not work on every website, browser version, or page configuration. No guarantee is made that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a specific purpose.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chris Ward is not responsible for damages, losses, broken layouts, workflow interruptions, data loss, business loss, or other issues arising from your use of CSS Scratchpad.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of CSS Scratchpad after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
